After a fairly quiet summer, the Valley saw a lot more dust this week.
That may have left homeowners and Valley residents with a lot more dirt around the house.
“Generally a haboob causes a lot of dust to the stucco and windows,” Clean ‘N Fresh’s Norma McCormick said.
The outdoor of the home can be cleaned with a bit of elbow grease and water.
McCormick suggests dusting cobwebs off the stucco and removing dust and sand from any entry so the dust isn’t tracked in the house.
“Use a host to wash off sidewalks and patios,” she said.
Likely the home’s windows are also in need of a cleaning.
“Windows can be cleaned with a squeegee and water,” she said. “Dish soap can be added to lift and float the soil. Screens can be dusted or washed with a hose.”
Homeowners should check window ledges for any additional dust.
As long as windows and door were shut, it’s unlikely dust got in the house.
To help keep inside air healthy year-round, air filters should be cleaned or replaced monthly.
