If you have children, it’s likely your home can seem a place of chaos most days. But even amid the books, shoes, plans for dinners, rehearsals, practices and homework, it’s possible to create a sense of calm in the home.
It starts with your attitude when you arrive each day. If there is a mood of, “Get this done! Then this!” you should take a step back.
Before you even unload the car, take a deep breath, tell the children to put their backpacks or pool items away and then take a seat at the table or the couch. Before they move again, turn on some calm music and use some essential oils (we like Serenity by doTerra) to calm the senses. Then give the next directions like set the table or unload the dishwasher.
Those extra pauses will help everyone – including mom – focus on what needs to be done, while also calming the storm of the evening.
